Civil Engineer Intern – Summer 2023

Knott Laboratory is a multi-disciplinary forensic engineering firm established in 1982 in Denver, Colorado. The company launched after evaluating the Hyatt Regency walkway collapse in Kansas City, and since, Knott has evaluated over 20,000 failure analysis cases with subsequent repairs. We work as a remote team of engineers who focus on each project with a collective, fun team approach. The diversity of failure causes makes every project a new one. Our team’s failure analysis results provide incredible training opportunities that can be rolled into the reconstruction as well as new project designs. Forensic investigations allow our engineers to develop specialized skill sets and, in turn, we regularly present and share what we learn with clients and the greater engineering and construction community.

Overview
Knott Laboratory, LLC is seeking a full-time Civil Engineer Intern in Denver or Colorado Springs for the Summer of 2023. The ideal candidate be a junior or senior student currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program for Civil Engineering. The successful candidate will have experience in site development, transportation, design and drafting and construction as well as exposure to construction elements like water and sewer, asphalt, concrete, and other site elements.




Qualifications

Qualifications
Current Junior or Senior student enrolled in a Civil Engineering B.S. degree; Resident of Colorado, either Denver Metro area or Colorado Springs area; Experience with ACAD, and/or Revit drafting software; Experience with Structural or Civil Engineering and exposure to Construction; Self-motivated and interested in learning new technical skills; Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills.

Compensation
Pay $18-22/hour; Job Type: Full Time, Temporary; Internship for Summer 2023 (May through July); Work Remotely: Yes, Hybrid; Fieldwork: Yes; up to 50% of time (inspections, project initiation, etc)
