Structural/Geotechnical Engineer

Work with a fast-paced, growth-oriented team of forensic engineers at Knott Laboratory.

Knott Laboratory is a multi-disciplinary forensic engineering firm established in 1982 in Denver, Colorado. The company launched after evaluating the Hyatt Regency walkway collapse in Kansas City, and since, Knott has evaluated more than 18,000 failure analysis cases with subsequent repairs. We work as a remote team of engineers who focus on each project with a collective, fun team approach. The diversity of failure causes makes every project a new one. Our team’s failure analysis results provide incredible training opportunities that can be rolled into the reconstruction as well as new project designs. Forensic investigations allow our engineers to develop specialized skill sets and, in turn, we regularly present and share what we learn with clients and the greater engineering and construction community.

We offer competitive salaries, comprehensive benefits, and flexible schedules so you can be there for your family and enjoy the Colorado lifestyle. This position is located in Grand Junction, CO but you will work remotely from your home office. Local travel is required for inspections in Western Colorado with minimal overnight travel.

Our Grand Junction team covers a diverse client base that supports the insurance, legal, new construction, and restoration industries. We perform forensic failure analysis of all kinds of projects from new buildings to older structures and specialize in the diagnosis and repair of them. Restoration efforts are generally focused on repairing buildings from insurance losses and those with construction deficiencies and foundation failures. This position allows for creativity in repair solutions that accomplish the client’s goals. Knott also performs new construction designs for clients throughout western Colorado.
