Knott Laboratory is a forensic engineering firm with 40 years of experience partnering with our clients to investigate building failures and deficiencies. Knott Laboratory Forensic Engineers regularly serve as expert witnesses providing prelitigation and post-litigation consulting, analysis and exhibits for depositions and jury trials.

Knott Laboratory, LLC is looking for a Civil Engineer to join our team in Denver, Colorado. As a Civil Engineer, you will work with experienced Professional Engineers and manage projects involving residential, commercial, and industrial sites.

What you will do
Perform field inspections of existing structures and land development sites; Design land development features such as grading, drainage, water retention ponds, storm water systems, sewer systems and paving systems; Design concrete and asphalt roadways with appropriate bumper, curb, parking and storm drain locations; Provide design solutions for sites with challenges such as expansive soils, storm drainage, stormwater management, erosion control and retention walls; Ensure designs meet compliance with building codes and industry standards; Write technical reports with inspection results, determinations, and design solution proposals; Assist with the development of scope of work and budgets for proposals; Research and staying current on industry trends and emerging knowledge.

What you will bring
4+ years Civil Engineering experience PE, Professional Engineer in Colorado; Experience with construction site management, project management and civil design; Resident of Denver Metro area, Colorado; B.S. degree in Civil Engineering; Skilled with Civil 3D, CAD; Passionate and self-motivated with the ability to work remotely and balance multiple projects; Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills.



Qualifications


Compensation
Salary: $70,000-$115,000, depending upon experience; Job Type: Full Time, 7:30am-4:30pm, Monday - Friday; Work Setting: Flexible. Remote/Home office work up to 60%; Field Inspections up to 40%; Matching 401(k); Company Profit Sharing Plan; Health, Dental and Vision Insurance; Paid Time and Holidays Off; Professional Development Assistance and Tuition Reimbursement up to $5k/year
