Newest Trends in Accident Reconstruction

BY RICHARD M. ZIERNICKI, PH.D., P.E.S

As someone with strong experience in court, I would like to provide some insight into the best practices that I have learned and observed over the years. I hope they can help you in your current or future professional work.

I have successfully presented accident reconstructions, with the assistance of high tech visualizations, on hundreds of occasions in both state and federal courts across the country.
What are the trends and changes in today’s accident reconstruction environment?

There are two basic areas of forensic investigation of motor vehicle and industrial accidents that have gone through fundamental changes in recent years: First, the use of technology in investigation and analysis, and Second, the use of Visuals in court presenting the outcome of the investigation.

Scientific studies show that people are more likely to remember information when it is presented both orally and visually, rather than only orally communicated.
