About

Mr. Maupin has over 20 years of architectural experience, 9 of those as a Forensic Architect and Senior Forensic Architect managing investigations for both plaintiff and defense claims. He has experience with Facility Condition Assessments and building envelope investigations, identifying architectural and construction deficiencies, providing design and repair recommendations, and writing expert opinion reports for use in litigation.

Mr. Maupin is registered by the National Council of Architectural Registration Board. He is licensed in Arizona, Colorado, Massachusetts, and Texas.

Engineering Design

Mr. Maupin coordinated planning, design, and permitting activities for hundreds of buildings in Colorado, Massachusetts, and Antarctica. Mr. Maupin was responsible for conceptual design, contract drawing production, as well as coordination with general contractors and field personnel during construction phases. Projects included retail stores and restaurants in Colorado, residential and institutional projects in Massachusetts and National Science Foundation buildings in Antarctica.

FORENSIC ARCHITECTURE:
For the past nine years, Mr. Maupin has been involved in the planning and execution of the following aspects of forensic building investigations for hundreds of plaintiff and defense claims: intrusive testing, field documentation, document review, report creation, and rebuttal strategies. Primarily focused on multi-family and single-family residential projects, Mr. Maupin’s recent experience also included client facing services and expert witness deposition testimony for both plaintiff and defense litigation. Mr. Maupin’s forensic experience has concentrated on building envelope construction including roofing and cladding systems.

CONSTRUCTION AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT:
Mr. Maupin has worked professionally as a roofer, welder, and carpenter on projects in New York State and Georgia, including single family homes, structural bridge repairs, and shop fabrication of structures like NYS Toll booths. Mr. Maupin has also managed construction, including a six-building mixed used development as a Project Engineer in Colorado at the redevelopment of the area now called Central Park (formerly known as Stapleton International Airport).
